Troseth: Negative Inversion and Degree Inversion in the English DPErika Troseth (CUNY) has posted a new
paper on the LIBA (Linguistics in
the Big Apple) site: Negative
Inversion and Degree Inversion in the English DP.
From the introduction: That parallels hold between the sentential and nominal domains has been a fairly mainstream idea at least since Abney (1987). Taking a careful look at some fairly simple inversion data from English further supports this previously hypothesized parallel, and in addition allows for some surprising and new insights. |
